In this activity, you will learn about and use the Lean Startup Business Model Canvas to construct a business model for two of your competitors.
Purpose
This activity is designed to help you learn about the nine different components of the lean business model canvas. In addition, you will gain a better understanding of your competition by examining their business model. Finally, completing this activity will prepare you and your group to begin the iterative process of building your own business model.
Procedures
Follow the steps below to complete this activity.
Step 1

Step 2
Assign each team member to study a document.
Step 3
Create a Google Doc to record your answers to the following:
— What are the nine components of the lean business model canvas?
— What is the definition for each component of the lean business model canvas.
Step 4
As a group, discuss the above questions and record your answers in the Google Doc.
Step 5
Get two of the lean business model canvas handout from the classroom.
Step 6
Select two competitors from competitive analysis.
Step 7
Construct a lean business model canvas for each of the two competitors.
Step 8
Present both lean business model canvas for evaluation.
Step 9
Write a blog entry that reflects your understanding of the lean business model canvas.
