You want to pay attention to your use of language. For example, you say, “plastic production is going up”. This is everyday language that is vague and requires further explanation on your part. Business owners will go say this in a presentation as this kind of language will suggest that they are inexperienced.
A more authoritative and credible way of stating the below is: 300 million tons of plastic are produced each year with 50% of this plastic being produced for single-use purposes. In addition, 8 million tons of plastics are dumped into our oceans.
This is a more informative way of presenting the problem.
