Overview

In the previous activity, you and your group conducted research to construct business model canvas for your competitors. By completing this activity, you learned about the different components that make up the business model canvas as well as how your competition has organized its business to address the needs of customers.

In this activity, you apply your conceptual understanding of the various components of the business model to construct your own business model canvas for your startup venture. To achieve this goal, we will follow the procedures below.

Procedures

Step 1

Leaders assign each member a section of the business model.

Step 2

Leaders record this information in team log.

Step 3

Attend the following Meet Ups to work on each of the components.

Meet Up #1 — Problem, Solution, Customer Segment
Meet Up #2 — Value Proposition
Meet Up #3 — Channels
Meet Up #4 — Costs
Meet Up #5 — Revenues
Meet Up #6 — Unfair Advantage

Step 4

At the end of each Meet Up, add sticky notes to the business model canvas

Step 5

Practice presenting your model and answering questions after your presentation.

Step 6

Reflect on your performance to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement.

Step 7

Apply reflection and feedback to improve your business model.

Step 8

Present your final business model to earn an excellence rating.
